The Professional Writing Certificate Program provides students the opportunity to strengthen their written communication abilities, skills highly valued by employers and graduate programs. Students in the program engage in advanced writing that combines creative thinking, analysis, and practical application within traditional and digital environments.   Upon completion of the Professional Writing Certificate, students will be able to compose public, technical, and workplace documents for a variety of audiences and contexts and to comfortably engage in writing that involves solo or group projects.

Admission Requirement

Admissions to South Carolina State University and successful completion of
E150 English Composition I and E151 English Composition II (or the equivalents).

Flexible Delivery Format! The Professional Writing Certificate allows flexibility: students can choose to complete the entire program online or in a hybrid model that allows them to complete some courses in face-to-face format and others online.

Technical Requirements

A computer with Internet connectivity is required for coursework delivered online. Additional technology requirements are listed on the course syllabus.

 

Tuition and Fees

eTuition: $552 (per credit hour)
Fees: $84 (per semester)

*eTuition rates are the same for both in-state and out-of-state students.
